Tracking YouTube Videos in Social Listening
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Overview
Social Listening is your brand's central library for YouTube content. It's where every video you're tracking, long-form uploads and Shorts, from any creator, lives in one sortable, filterable table, complete with performance metrics and earned media value.Use Social Listening when you want a program-wide view of your YouTube presence: which creators are posting, how their videos perform, and which content is worth pulling into a campaign. Think of it as the top of the funnel, a running record of everything happening on YouTube, while a SuperBrief zooms into the videos tied to one specific campaign.
Why track YouTube in Social Listening
See all your YouTube coverage in one place instead of checking channels one by one.
Measure real impact with views, engagement, and earned media value (EMV) side by side.
Build a reusable library of videos you can later attach to campaigns and briefs.
Spot your top performers by sorting and filtering, so you know which creators to invest in.
Adding YouTube Videos
Videos are added to Social Listening manually, so you stay in control of exactly what your brand tracks.
From the left menu, open Social Listening and select the YouTube tab.
Click Add Video.
Choose how you want to add videos:
Paste links: enter one or more YouTube URLs directly. You can paste several at once, separated by spaces, commas, or new lines. Both standard
youtube.comlinks and shortyoutu.belinks work, for long-form videos and Shorts alike.Upload a CSV: upload a spreadsheet file containing your video links. Useful when you've been collecting URLs in a tracker.
Import a Google Sheet: paste a shared Google Sheet URL and Superfiliate reads the links straight from the sheet, so you don't have to export anything.
Superfiliate identifies each video, pulls in its details and stats, and adds it to your table. You'll see a brief "Identifying videos… / Fetching data" status while it works.
Note: If you import from a Google Sheet, make sure the sheet's sharing is set so anyone with the link can view, otherwise Superfiliate can't read it and the import will fail.
Understanding Your YouTube Table
Each row is a single video. Here's what every column tells you:
Column | What it means |
Title | The video's title, thumbnail, and length. Click the arrow icon to open it on YouTube. |
Superfiliate | The creator in your program linked to this video, if they're one of your Superfiliates. Shows N/A if the channel isn't tied to a Superfiliate. |
YouTube | The channel name and handle. Click to visit the channel. |
Format | Long Form (standard 16:9 uploads) or Shorts (vertical 9:16). Detected automatically. |
Views, Likes, Comments | Core performance stats pulled from the video. |
Engagements | Total interactions across the video. |
Engagement Rate | Interactions as a percentage, a quick read on how well the content resonated. |
EMV | Earned Media Value: an estimated dollar value of the exposure the video generated, so you can talk about YouTube in ROI terms. |
Campaign | Any YouTube campaign the video is associated with. |
Subscribers | The channel's subscriber count. |
Posted | The date the video went live. |
Content Tag | Custom tags you apply to organize and group content. |
Finding the Right Videos
The table is built for quick filtering. Use the search bar to find a video by title, and combine it with filters:
Format: narrow to Long Form or Shorts.
Channel: focus on specific creators.
Campaign: see only videos tied to a given campaign.
Minimum Views / Likes / Comments / Subscribers: set a floor to surface your highest-impact content or largest creators.
You can also sort any performance column to rank videos, and reorder or hide columns to focus on the metrics you care about. By default the table shows the most recently posted videos first.
Row Actions
Open a video's ⋯ menu to:
Superfiliate Profile: jump to the linked creator's profile in your program.
Open on YouTube: view the original video in a new tab.
Best Practices
Add videos as they publish so your library stays current and your EMV reporting reflects your full YouTube footprint.
Tag consistently (e.g., by product launch, seasonal push, or content theme) so you can filter back to a set of videos later.
Use minimum-metric filters to build shortlists, for example, "Shorts with 50k+ views", when deciding which creators to re-engage or which content to boost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Social Listening pull in videos automatically?
No, the Social Listening library is curated by you. You add the videos you want to track. (Automatic tracking exists inside a SuperBrief, where a participating creator's videos attach to the campaign on their own.)
Can I track a creator who isn't one of my Superfiliates?
Yes. Any YouTube video can be added. The Superfiliate column simply shows N/A when the channel isn't linked to a creator in your program.
What's the difference between Long Form and Shorts?
It's the video format. Superfiliate detects it automatically, Long Form is standard 16:9, Shorts is vertical 9:16, and you can filter by either.
What is EMV?
Earned Media Value: an estimated monetary value of the reach and engagement a video earned, so YouTube performance can be compared against paid media in dollar terms.
